Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled blockchain developer with expertise in Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC). The ideal candidate will be proficient in developing and integrating complex cryptographic protocols, including ECDSA, Schnorr, and MuSig, and knowledgeable in advanced blockchain technologies such as HTLCs, WASM, and Taproot. This role requires a strong background in C++ development and a deep understanding of blockchain interoperability challenges and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop secure, efficient IBC protocols for blockchain interoperability.
- Implement and optimize cryptographic algorithms (ECDSA, Schnorr, MuSig) within the IBC framework.
- Work with HTLCs and other mechanisms to enable secure cross-chain transactions.
- Utilize WASM for smart contract development and integration within IBC systems.
- Leverage knowledge of Bitcoin Taproot for advanced scripting in cross-chain scenarios.
- Collaborate with developers and engineers to create scalable, robust IBC solutions.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with blockchain technology.
- Deep knowledge of cryptographic protocols and their application in blockchain environments.
- Experience implementing and managing HTLCs and understanding their role in IBC.
- Familiarity with WebAssembly (WASM) and its use in blockchain applications.
- Understanding of Bitcoin Taproot and its applications in advanced scripting and privacy.
- Proven ability to design and develop complex blockchain interoperability solutions.

Current Status
- Core wallet functionality for sending, receiving, managing accounts, and viewing assets is operational.
- A basic connect flow allows sites to integrate with extension actions.
- Work is underway to expose account information (public key, username) outside the React app context.
- A secure storage system is being developed for safe data retrieval and updates.
- Event listener improvements are in progress to support robust message passing and new functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance existing Bitcoin Libre wallet extension functionality.
- Develop features that expose account information outside the React app context.
- Establish secure storage systems for account information and ensure safe data flows.
- Optimize event listener code for extensive message passing and embedded window functions.
- Ensure the extension scales securely and performs efficiently across browsers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Chrome extension development with complex messaging systems.
- Expertise in React and TypeScript, including building reusable, complex APIs.
- Familiarity with runtime API polyfills and extending support beyond Chrome.
- Understanding of security principles for browser extension development.
- Experience with Metamask API or similar projects is highly desirable.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with dependencies such as bitcoinjs-lib, eosjs, and react-query.
- Understanding of Bitcoin Layer 2 solutions and the Libre ecosystem.
- Background in financial or cryptocurrency applications.
